Hemangiomas and lymphangiomas are benign tumors caused by a vascular anomaly in neonatal, infant and childhood. Hemangiomas are benign tumors whose basic characteristics are cellular endothelial proliferation of the vascular endothelium and secondary resorption.
Capillary tangles are most often formed, but they can also be formed by a convolute of wide vessels (vascular caverns), which are typical for large lesions. Lymphangioma (simplex, circumscriptum) is a vascular anomaly formed by a tangle of small lymphatic channels, resembling a tangle of capillaries, mostly penetrating the skin and subcutaneous tissue.
