Factor structure of the 24-item Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-Abbreviated

Abstract

Psychometric properties of the 24-item Eysenck Personality Questionnaire Revised-Abbreviated were tested in the Czech context using the data from 3565 subjects aged from 14 to 79 years. Using exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, evidence was found for unidimensionality of the EPQR-A scales Extraversion, Neuroticism and the Lie Scale.

The Psychoticism scale would benefit from further research. In addition, gender and age effects on scales, though statistically significant, appear as of no clinical importance.

The Czech version of the EPQR-A scales Extraversion, Neuroticism and the L-Scale can be recommended when research context prevents researcher from using the full 100-item EPQ/A
