Change of EEG coherence in diagnostics of diffuse axonal injury

Abstract

The significant difference in EEG coherence changes was proved between patients with diffuse axonal injury involving corpus callosum and patients with other closed traumatic brain injury. The patients with traumatic diffuse axonal injury presented a relative decrease of coherence for the major part of EEG frequencies.

Our data indicate that this decrease of EEG coherence is a specific sign of callosal damage in diffuse axonal injured patients.
