Rapid-acting insulin analogues

Publication at Third Faculty of Medicine |
2001

Abstract

Short-acting insulin analogues were prepared by modification of insulin molecule. Following subcutaneous injection, significantly higher serum concentrations are achieved in a shorter time with insulin analogues than with human insulin.

Due to pharmacokinetic characteristics of insulin analogues, they will provide an insulin porfile closer to normal physiology than can be achieved with human insulin.
