Abstract

Somatoform disorders are heterogenous group of mental disorders with somatic complains and worries about health as a dominant symptoms. The sufferers believe that other psychiatric symptoms developed secondarly.

Etiopathogenesis of somatoform disorders remain unclear. There were many biological and psychological theories which tried to explain it.

Symptoms of somatoform disorders are partly overlaping. Nevertheless there are some clinical features, which can help in the differentiation among somatoform disorders.

The treatment is psychotherapeutical or pharmacological or combined. The SSRIs are the therapy of choice among psychotropics and CBT is the therapy of choice among psychotherapies.
