Pain as a causal factor of biochemical changes in the blood plasma in patients with gallbladder diseases

Abstract

Acute and chronic pain is accompanied with the blood serum biochemical changes. During acute cholecystitis the most important increase was observed in glycaemia, total cholesterol and non-HDL cholesterol.

All values were nearly normalized after cholecystectomia and following treatment with analgesics. This type of pain was accompanied with lower serum biochemical changes if compared to the stronger type of pain.

Neverteless short-lasting acute pain is accompanied with several biochemical changes, which can be used as the indicators of pain intensity
