Human experimentation in the Czech Republic during last decades

Abstract

In the paper history of human experimentation in the Czech Republic from 1960 is reflected. During communist regime strong paternalism of physicians and researchers was balanced by their sense of duty towards patients in clinical trials.

After the fall of communist regime in 1990 many things changed. In regulation of clinical research important role played ethics committees established in 1990 after recommendation of Dr.

Martin Bojar, Minister of Health.
