Personality, anticipated social support, and adjustment of elder women to ageing: test of the life satisfaction model

Abstract

Structural model of personality, anticipated social support and life satisfaction relationship was tested using data on 89 elder women, living in community, average age 68.6 years. The results supported hypothesis that anticipated social support may substantially affect successful adaptation to ageing and that ability to secure it is markedly influenced by temperamental traits.
