Cognitive behavioural therapy and its integration with other psychotherapeutic approaches

Abstract

One of the challenges for cognitive behavioural therapy is to develop effective treatment strategies for working with difficult patients, such as patients with personality disorders, somatoform and dissociative disorders, chronic patients, and others. The development of cognitive models and strategies in last 20 years lead to opening the CBT to others theoretical models and integrating strategies of other therapeutical school into the CBT; experiential techniques, creative imaginary dialogues, emotional catharsis, working with dynamic of therapeutic relationship, with early maladaptive schemas, and others started to be the integral part of modern CBT approaches
