Intracardiac masses

Abstract

Echocardiographic examination is the first choice method in the detection of intracardiac masses. It is a very sensitive method that can accurately assess localization, size, attachment and movement of an intracardiac mass.

However, its histologic identification using echocardiography is not possible. This review describes echocardiographic characteristics of some echocardiographic masses.

The main aim of this article is to facilitate basic orientation when abnormal echoes during echocardiography are detected
