The role of human papillomaviruses in aetiology in some human colorectal disease

Abstract

This study concerns to relationship between papillomavirus infection (HPV) and some anorectal disease. The control group of patients without any pathology of anorectal region and anal fissure, anal cancer, perianal condylomas, rectal adenomas and rectal cancer are compared.

Our results confirm a known relationship between HPV infection, anal cancer and perianal condylomas. The priority of our paper is a high incidence of HPV positivity in large flat rectal adenomas.
