Lyme disease was monitored in endemic areas in 45 dogs, 15 in each group: seropositive dogs without clinical sings (LB1), with clinical sings of Lyme arthritis (LB2), and seronegative control (C). Migratory recurrent arthritis without divergent radiographic findings was clinically present (LB2) accompanied by lameness, lethargy, lymphocytosis, eosinophilia and regenerative anaemia.

Positive response to antibiotic treatment was present in only 30-40 % of cases (LB2) over 2-3 month. Immunosuppression and multiplication of Giardia spp. was a cause of complications in selected cases
