Part 1 includes a worldwide review of recent advances in the epidemiology of lung cancer among women. Part 2 includes the results of a case-control study of 451 female lung cancer cases and 1710 controls, conducted at the Charles Univesity Hospital Na Bulovce, Prague, Czech Republic, analyzing the role of smoking, diet, physical activity, prior chest disease or cancer, menstrual and pregnancy history, and other factors in the etiopathogenesis of lung cancer in women.
