Pre-emptive analgesia by combination of ketmine and morphine

Abstract

We have demonstrated on 63 women scheduled for gynaecological surgery that the combination of pre-emptive ketamine 0.6 mg.kg-1 and morphine 0.1 mg.kg-1 causes better post-operative analgesia (measured by morphine consumption after surgery), then when one drug is used before surgery and the other after surgical stimulus.
