Abstract
The authors present a case-study of anaerobic sepsis following septic thrombophlebitis of the internal jugular vein caused by progression of paratonsillar infection during acute tonsillopharyngitis. All the features of disease correspond to Lemierre syndrome, recently rather rare but still emerging severe complication of acute tonsillopharyngitis
