The article focuses on ethical and legal rules of informed consent and examines the public opinion on it in the Czech Republic. In the beginning the legal wording is analysed and the most recent enactment changes are described in detail.
Further, the study presents the outcomes of original empirical survey which inquired what people understand under this concept and how they accept it in the practice. In the end, a discussion was concluded over cultural impact on informed consent in diverse countries leading to certain country-specific modification of its practice
