Meningitis C - fulminant disease in a ten-year-old child

Abstract

The article presents a case report of a 10-years-old boy fallen sick of the meningococcal infection with a fulminant course and a fatal outcome. Later, the immunodeficiency in the patient has been proved.

The authors compare this case report with a current image of meningococcal infection. Pathophysiological background and current treatment are presented.
