Laparoscopy and pelvic pain in gynaecology

Abstract

Chronic pelvic pain in women is a quite common diagnosis with increasing frequency. The aim of the study was to analyse the cause of chronic pelvic pain (CPP) in women operated at our gynaecologic department.

The total number of operated patients was 395 and the method of choice was laparoscopy. The most common finding during laparoscopy were adhaesions and endometriosis.

No pathology in the abdominal cavity was found in 25 %. The typical patient with chronic pelvic pain is usually a young women who needs proper medical examination and treatment
