Functional activities questionnaire FAQ-CZ - Czech version for assessment of activities of daily living in patients with Alzheimer disease
Abstract
The aim is the introduction of a Czech version of Functional Activities Questionnaire (FAQ-CZ) and to obtain experience with it in patients with Alzheimer disease (AD). We translated items from the original source to the user-friendly questionnaire named FAQ-CZ.
Activities of daily living (ADL) of 30 patients with probable AD were assessed by caregivers using FAQ-CZ. We also evaluated cognitive performance of patients using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE).
Caregivers appreciate properties of FAQ-CZ which is simple, well arranged and brief. They usually filled it up within 2-5 minutes in the waiting room.
FAQ-CZ is not dependent on age, education or sex of the patients. ADL according to FAQ-CZ were significantly related to the cognitive functions measured by MMSE (r = -0.5; p = 0.002).
