Abstract
Basic principles of postoperative analgesia are presented: pathophysiology, basic pharmacology, ways of administration, pain measurements, organisation of postoperative pain therapy and mainly procedure specific analgesia in adults, children, pregnant and breast-feeding women and patients with chronic opioid therapy.
