Abstract

After natrium-phasphate solution addministration for bowel cleansing before coloscopy and barrium enema in a short time between both a high level of serum creatinine appeared without urine volume changes in 83 yrs. old men. Renal biopsy proved acute phosphate nephopathy.

In 3 month declining of renal function was demonstrated and the patient was referred to chronic haemodialysis program. The authors point out to the danger of phosphate cleansing bowel solution in patient with urinary stones or infection of urinary track, diabetes mellitus and administration of drugs, influencing calcium and phosphate metabolism.
