The Fast Electrophoretic Determination of Uric Acid in Alantoic Fluid with Injection from the Short End of the Capillary

Abstract

The use of the separation path about only several centimetres enables to achieve very fast electrophoretic separations. Such short separation paths are available in capillary electrophoretic instruments on condition that a sample is introduced into the capillary from the short end.

This strategy was successfully tested for the determination of uric acid in alantoic fluid of chicken embryos. The LOD of optimized method with injection from the short end of capillary is 0.8 µM and the separation time is shorter than 1 minute.
