Abstrakt
The problems of foreign language communication and language methodology having to do with it, represent an important part of an ideological work of J. A.
Comenius both on a theoretical level and also in its practical applications. It could seem that there is Comenius "a methodologist on one hand" an innovator in the field of language teaching and the author of famous language textbooks which establish a platform for studying a few foreign languages (Methodus linguarum novissima), on the other hand Comenius as a defender of monolingualism, a proponent of a universal language (Via lucis, Panglottia, etc.) This article throws some light on the unified system of these seeming contradictions.
