Capillary Electrophoresis with Contactless Conductivity Detection as Effective Tool for the Monitoring of Biochemical and Physiological Processes

Publication at Third Faculty of Medicine |
2010

Abstract

Capillary electrophoresis in combination with microdialysis was used to monitor fast processes in living organisms. The biologically active compounds are detected by the contactless conductivity detection.

This approach enables to monitor free glycerol levels in adipose tissue during a sporting activity. In another study the submicromolar concentration of glycine in the central nervous system was measured.
