Publication at Third Faculty of Medicine |
2010

Abstract

Our animal research of drug addiction uses several behavioral techniques including learning and memory tests, tests of maternal behavior and tests of active drug-seeking behavior, such as Self-administration and Conditioned place preference tests. Learning and memory tests can be divided to spatial memory tests that is dependent on hippocampal functions (Morris water maze) and Object recognition and Object location tests that do not depend on the function of the hippocampus.

This review demonstrates the newest information of the drug addiction research in animal models that use cognitive and behavioral tests
