Abstract

The authors of the article address the issues related to teaching ethics of nursing. In their research the focused on how Czech nurses perceive ethical problems and what problems do they most commonly encounter.

The results show that many nurses perceive ethical problems especially within the healthcare worker - patient relationship as well as in the healthcare team. They often feel that they know what should be the right solution to the ethical problems they think that their position within the team does not allow them to be very influential.

This may lead to moral distress which can contribute to the burnout syndrome.
