Abstract
The chapter describes the definition, classification and epidemiology of pain. In detail is analyzed the physiology and etiopathogenesis of pain.
Discussed is the management and perception of pain. Also is described the diagnosis of pain (subjective and objective) and the complications and prognosis of painful phenomena.
Than the objectives and strategies of treatment, including pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatments is discussed. The chapter is finished with educational test and case report.
