Abstract

Within the project of 6th FP EU oriented on impact of long-term low-lewel exposure to enviromental toxic metal, levels of lead, cadmium and mercury have been examined in blood of 150 children laged 5-12 y living in regions with different environmental pollution. Blood lead levels in children from Kašperské Hory showed increased values compared with other children; however the data correspond with the Czech human biomonitoring results.and did not exceed the tolerable limit value of 100 ug/L.

Blood cadmium velels were about the limit of detection 0,2 ug/L. Also blood mercury values in projct (0,32-0,42 ug/l) did not differ from the Czech national biomonitoring values.
