Recommendation for hormone replacement therapy in postmenopause

Abstract

This recommendation is a synthesis of the latest recommendations of the International Menopause Society (IMS), IMS consensus and European Society of Cardiology, recommendations of Czech experts and declarations of the North American Menopause Society (NAMSA). The recommendation was approved by the auditorium of the Conference on the Menopause section for questions menopause (SOM) and the Czech ČGPS Andropausal and Menopause Society (CMAS) was adjusted according to committee members and SOM ČGPS CMAS.

Permanent aging is associated with preserved during menopause, with more time, when a woman lives in a state of estrogen deficiency. Acute problems of hormonal imbalance accompanying extinction of ovarian function in approximately 75% of women.

The rate of difficulty and length of persistence of the individual. Long-term estrogen deficiency leads to the development of urogenital atrophy, postmenopausal osteoporosis and atherosclerosis.

Recommendations for hormonal therapy (HT), which are presented in this document are based on current evidence that HT from symptomatic perimenopausal or postmenopausal healthy woman younger than 60 years may be effective and safe.
