Abstract
Coxibs represent potentially risk drugs from cardiological point of view. All the coxibes are contraindicated in pacients with cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases.
Therapy with coxibes is connected with higher risk in pacients with multiple risk factors of atherosclerosis (espec. hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus, cigarette smoking). Situation is not so clear in young individuals with low risk.
Etoricoxib is contraindicated in non-controlled hypertension. Therapy with acetylosalicylic acid does not protect against cardivascular effect of coxibes
