Patient with an extensive non-thermic skin loss

Abstract

Toxic epidermal necrolysis is a severe mucocutaneous disease with a low incidence and high morbidity and mortality. This paper presents a case report of a girl with 15 years of extensive skin disability of 80% body surface area and mucosal involvement.

After nine days of adequate general and local treatment the patient was discharged to home care. Treatment of patients with severe exfoliative skin cover loss is based on a multidisciplinary treatment strategy similar to that of extensively burned patients.
