Abstract
Draft concept epidemiology was discussed by the Committee of the Society for Epidemiology and Microbiology of CzMA of 6 Third 2012th The final text was approved by the Committee of the Society for Epidemiology and Microbiology of CzMA and author team of 15 Third 2012th Epidemiology Branch is a separate medical specialty that deals with the study of complex diseases and disorders in the human population and the study of factors that influence the occurrence or condition, especially environmental factors, climatic and social. Results of its activities carried out in an objective-based proposals for measures to protect and improve the health status of the population, or to participate in their implementation and monitors their effectiveness.
The aim of epidemiology is to prevent the occurrence and spread of infectious and mass-occurring disorders. Epidemiology also provides the indispensable basis for dealing with situations related to threats to public health and misuse of biological agents (bioterrorism).
Field epidemiology studies in human population relationships between man and the external environment with emphasis on the study of the causes of disease and ill health, an analysis of their occurrence and trends. Also deals with the detection of natural and health-enhancing economic factors or influencing the emergence of disease.
Aim of the study is to contribute to the protection of public health and prolong quality of life of individuals and society as a whole, reducing morbidity, mortality, and the support of positive factors.
