Hormonal contraception is the most widely used method of preventing unplanned pregnancies. The literature has shown a possible link between risks to the cardiovascular system and the use of hormone therapy.
Aiming to provide better guidelines for contraception methods in women with risk factors for cardiovascular disease, the literature on the subject has been reviewed in this article.
