Optimized HPLC method was used for fast screening of malondialdehyde in blood plasma. Clinical studies revealed higher levels of malondialdehyde in patients with diabetes mellitus, patients with ovarian, cervical and endometrial cancer.
In contrast, in vegans was the level of malondialdehyde lower. It was shown to increase the levels of malondialdehyde in surgery, this effect can be suppressed by single-dose vitamin E before surgery.
