Sonographic Measurement of Intima Thickness of Common Carotid Artery in Diabetes Patients

Abstract

This study compares sonografically assesed intima - media thicknes (IMT) in diabetic and control patients. IMT in diabetic was significantly higher when compared with control group.

In whole cohort IMT ACC positively correlates with age. When adjusted for age, the mean IMT ACC level was significantly higher in men than in woman.
