Longterm unemployment-analysis of the relationship of incomes and living conditions to the social behaviour and new living strategies developed by longterm unemployed people

Abstract

The aim of this survey was to identify basic characteristics of position of long-term unemployed including their present economic conditions. The basic topics were: educational and professional career, qualification, characteristics of a last job and employer´s organisation, conditions for the lose of one´s job, job-seeking ways,activities during the time of unemployment, personal dispositions, job-seeking barriers, work motivation and aspiration, strategies of furter profesional career, value orientation, family conditions, income and property.

The survey dealt with those unemplyed who were registered by labour offices for more than a year. Number of respondents was 1474.
