Electrochemical Generation of Nitrogen Dioxide for Testing of Gas Sensors

Abstract

The generation is based on galvanostatic reduction of nitrate to nitrite on Ag cathode. Nitrite is chemically reduced directly in the generation solution to nitrogen oxide which is then oxidized in the stream of air into nitrogen dioxide.
