The role of Leishmania surface metaloprotease gp63 in sand fly vector

Abstract

The results obtained appear to indicate that down-regulation of gp63 does not prevent parasite growth in sand flies in late stage infections but may play a role at the early stage of midgut infections during bloodmeal digestion.
