Flow-dependent control of energy metabolism in the relaxed skeletal muscle

Abstract

Analyses of energy important metabolites at different stages of the muscle preparation and during different perfusion flow rates showed an active control of energy harvesting reactions. The resultes indicate that the flow-rate effect does not mean a simpe recuperation of depleted energy stores of an 'exhausted' muscle, but it represents a flow-dependent component of the energy metabolism control.
