On a Single Wing and a Prayer - Oddity and Flights of Fancy in the poetry of Stevie Smith

Abstrakt

This paper considers the themes of singleness and oddity in the work of the English poet Stevie Smith (1903-1977). These themes are explored firstly through an overview of the literary criticism of Smith and the marginalisation of her work, secondly, through examples of Smith.
