This paper intorduces Reuven Feuerstein´s concept of cultural handicap (deprivation). Feuerstein ´s approach to understand people´s difficulties to adott to different cultural conditions is rooted in his theory of structural cognitive modifiability.
We present a key aspects of this concept: the theory of mediated learning experience and use this theory to explain Feuerstein´s understanding of cultural handicap. We postulate ( in the line of Feuerstein´s approach) the need to distinguish between cultural handicap and cultural difference.
