Value of „love“ in particular cultures

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of family as transhuman values. The autor shows on the example of literature, poetry and visual arts, that this term has in particular cultures and historical periods very different meaning.

The author uses the novels, love lyrics, imagery and paintings of the different cultures to support her thesis. She deals with the ancient Egyptian and greak art, Romanic and Gothic style, arts of Renaissance, Baroque, Classicism, Impressionism and work of art in Twentieth Century.

She argues, that the value of family is strongly influenced by the tradition, historical development, natural and social environment.
