Presented paper revers to survey carried out by authors in 2008/2009. The participants were students of presence and combined forms of diverse studying programs at Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague.
The aim of the survey was to discover the preferences in form of study. As resulted from data analysis, students with special educational needs – given the necessity to overcome the barriers to studies – prefer distant form connected with practice.
The possibilities of improving the quality of university studies of students with special educational needs are highlighted.
