Abstract
The book gives a view on the transition from basic to secondary school crossing various aspects and relations influencing choice of professional track by teenagers. Studies are based on contemporary quantitiative a qualitative research.
Autors points out relevant findings and possibilities of more deep investigation of conditions, factors and processes influencing the key decision in the educational track. The problems are examined in the context of theories, research and reality focused on carrier consulting, gender problems and projection of the future by children and their parents.
Authors point out complexity of the decision process, roles of actors and support structures. Particular attention is given to the role of school, teachers and parents.
