Abstract

An orbital varix is a rare venous affection, its main symptom being intermittent exophthalmus. For the diagnosis of an orbital varix ultrasonic examination of the orbit is a useful examination method.

The authors present the ultrasonic finding of three patients with the diagnosis of an orbital varix. The correct diagnosis of an orbital varix can be as a rule established already from the typical clinical picture and echographic finding.
