Abstract

Examination of the moving heart has been a challenge for computed tomography since its inception. However, only in the last few years have multidetector CT devices achieve sufficient temporal and spatial resolution for reliable imaging and evaluation of coronary arteries.

As these devices become more and more available, it is good to know the current possibilities of CT examination of the heart and its limits. In conclusion, the 10 most common indications are listed.
