Abstrakt
Urothelial carcinoma of the urinary bladder is malignant disease with known etiologic factors, such as occupational chemical substances, tobacco smoking, chronic infection cause by Schistosoma haematobium or exposure to ionizing radiation. In spite of this knowledge we are facing extremely high burden of the disease.
More effort apparently will be necessary to define and understand all of the principles of bladder cancer etiology and pathogenesis like dietary habits or genetic susceptibility.
