Urinary incontinence - psychosocial and economic relations

Publication at Second Faculty of Medicine |
2004

Abstract

The paper reveals health, psychosocial and economical aspects of urine incontinence, which is a real burden for 16% adults in Czech Republic. Based on still unpublished epidemiological data on the urine incontinece among the Czech adult population and on overseseas data the attention is drawn to the necessity to analyse direct and undirect costs of urine incontinence management in Czech Republic.

The inevitability of the open communication on all aspects of incontinence is suggested respecting the expected higher prevalence of urine incontinence with regard to the quick aging of the Czech population.
