Diagnosis of sudden cardiac death in forensic practice

Publication at Second Faculty of Medicine |

Abstract

The spectrum of diseases leading to sudden death is relatively wide. While in the neonatal period (even in the wider, ie 28-day) it is a marginal issue, in infancy and toddler age such deaths can already be diagnosed.

The pre-school period and the first years of school life are insignificant in this respect (the causes of acute respiratory failure predominate here); This is a significant phenomenon in the so-called "teenage" adolescents and also between the ages of 20 and 35. In this period, sudden deaths are mainly associated with physical activity.

In middle and older age, this is the largest group.
