Abstract
Lipid tissue produces a large amount of biologically active substances, the so-called adipocytokines, which participate in the glucose and lipid metabolism regulation. Adiponectin, relatively newly discovered adipocytokine produced only by lipid tissue and found in a high concentration in the blood, plays a significant role during this regulation.
